On Thursday, two new legionnaires arrived for a trial at the "Vėtra" training camp in Cyprus - Emmanuel Chipatala, a player from the Malawi national team, and Miroslav Rikanovičius from Serbia and Montenegro. Earlier, a defender from Perm's "Amkar" also joined the team.
The 22-year-old left-back E. Chipatala is a key player in the Malawi national team, he played in many matches of the 2006 World Cup qualifiers and scored two goals. Last season, the Malawian played for the "Silver Strikers" club in his homeland, and in the 2004/05 season, playing for "Bukilli Bullets", the player helped his team reach the semifinals of the CAF Champions League.
Today, the 23-year-old forward from Serbia M. Rikanovičius also started training with "Vėtra", who played for his homeland - the "Jediastvo" club last season. Whether contracts will be signed with E. Chipatala and M. Rikanovičius after the trial will be decided by the "Vėtra" coaches.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the former "Žalgiris" and Lithuania youth national team defender, 23-year-old A. Jankauskas, who belongs to the Russian "Premier" League team "Amkar", joined the Vilnius team. The future of the latter in "Vėtra" will depend not only on his performance in the training camp but also on the negotiations between the Vilnius club and "Amkar".
