Real Madrid's forward Gareth Bale did not continue his dominance in the annual Wales player awards.
The 28-year-old striker, who has not faced any equal competitors for four consecutive years, had to immediately give way to Reading defender Chris Gunter.
Bale's compatriot has been playing for the Welsh national team since 2007 and has played over 80 matches. He also participated in the sensational 2016 European Championship, reaching the semi-finals.
