„Liverpool“ suffered a historic defeat in the last season under Jurgen Klopp.
In the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals, the „Reds“ were defeated 0-3 by Atalanta's footballers from Bergamo. This is the biggest home defeat in the history of this team in European tournaments.
In the 38th minute, Gianluca Scamacca put the visitors ahead. Towards the end of the half, Teun Koopmeiners could have doubled the score, but his shot was saved by Caiomhin Kelleher.
In the 60th minute, Scamacca doubled the score, and at the end of the match, Mario Pasalic made it three for the visitors.
„Liverpool“ had more shots in the game, but Atalanta's players created more dangerous opportunities.
The second leg will take place in Bergamo city in a week.
