In the face of "El Clasico" - referee show, red card and team deadlock (VIDEO, PHOTO)

On Sunday evening, exceptional 36th round matches were played in the Spanish "La Liga" championship.

At the "Camp Nou" stadium, two eternal rivals - "Barcelona" and Madrid "Real" met. The beginning of the match did not promise much, but controversial referee decisions "spiced up" the match, and in the emotionally heated "El Clasico" duel, a 2-2 draw was recorded.

The match started with active play from both teams. Both teams tried to control the ball, but the first punishment was received by the visitors from the capital.

In the 10th minute, Sergi Roberto broke through on the flank and made a pass into the penalty area, where Luis Suarez, left unmarked, defeated Keylor Navas with a precise shot and the score became 1-0.

The Catalans did not enjoy the lead for long - after constructing a perfect attack, Cristiano Ronaldo struck with a shot after Karim Benzema's pass found his foot, and the ball ended up in the net. The Portuguese felt ankle pain, but continued the match. However, after the first half, Ronaldo was no longer on the field - he was replaced by Marco Asensio.

After the equalizing goal, there was a bit of a lull in the game, but the end of the first half was particularly heated. Sergio Ramos clashed with Luis Suarez and both were shown a yellow card, shortly after for a rough tackle, Ramos received another yellow card and Lionel Messi also received a yellow card.

Emotions did not end at the end of the first half - in added time, Sergi Roberto got mad at Marcelo who pushed him and retaliated with a punch. The referee did not miss this episode and immediately showed a red card to the Spaniard.

In the second half, Barcelona remained with ten men, but that did not stop them from taking the lead again. Luis Suarez escaped from the opponents, made a precise pass to Messi, and he sent the ball into euphoria at "Camp Nou" with a perfect shot. However, the episode was highly controversial, as Uruguayan Suarez clearly fouled Raphael Varane while taking the ball.

With just ten men left, Barcelona defended confidently and did not allow dangerous opportunities for the "Real" team. In the 72nd minute, Barcelona succumbed to the pressure of their opponents - Gareth Bale received a hidden pass from Marco Asensio and defeated Ter Stegen with an amazing shot from about 20 meters.

During the rest of the match, emotions were less, but another referee decision caused a lot of talks, when Jordi Alba clearly fouled Marcelo inside the penalty area.

A penalty kick was not awarded, and "Barca" managed to escape into several dangerous attacks. In the final minutes of the match, "Real" also had chances with the ball, but they failed to convert at least one of them into a goal.

In terms of the league table, these matches practically did not determine anything - "Barcelona" has already secured the champions title, while "Real" is marching in third place.
