In the fierce duel between Cameroon and Australia - a draw (VIDEO)

At 18:00 Lithuania time in St. Petersburg, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Group B second round match took place.

The teams facing each other were the national teams of Cameroon and Australia. Both teams continue to remain without a taste of victory - after 90 minutes of play, the referee from Serbia announced a draw with a score of 1-1.

The match started with fast play from both teams. Neither one was willing to hold onto the ball in the midfield for long, but they did not capitalize on quick attacks - no dangerous chances were created.

In the first half, the Cameroon players played more threateningly, and at the end of the half they scored the first goal. Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui made a great long pass to find Andre-Frank Zambo, who directed the ball into Australia's goal with one touch.

In the second half, the game was completely different - the Australians attacked more aggressively, which forced the Cameroonians to work harder defensively. In the 46th minute, Tomi Juric came close to equalizing, but the ball did not find the target.

In the 56th minute, Benjamin Moukandjo could have put Cameroon ahead, but he failed to convert a perfect chance - the African received a great pass in the penalty area, the goal was empty, but his shot also missed.

The rule "you miss, I score" was confirmed - in the 60th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to Cameroon, which was successfully converted by Mark Milligan to level the score in this clash.

In the 77th minute, Vincent Aboubakar had another great opportunity to put Cameroon ahead, but once again the ball sailed past the post.

Neither team created any more serious chances in the remaining time, and the match ended in a draw, which did not satisfy both teams.

Both Cameroon and Australia earned their first points, and in the final round they will have only minimal chances to fight for a place in the semi-finals against the Germans and Chileans.

Result: Cameroon 1 - 1 Australia 45+1' [1 - 0] A-F. Zambo 60' [1 - 1] M. Milligan (penalty)
