In the final of the Lithuanian Veterans (35+) Cup - duel between two teams from Žemaitija

Two teams have emerged that will compete for this year's Lithuanian veterans (35+) cup trophy.

A serious competition took place in the championship zone of Žemaitija, where five teams competed for the first place in a two-round system.

The tournament included teams such as Plungė's "Babrungas", Kretinga's "Minija", Tauragė's "Tauras", Telšiai's "Džiugo veteranai", and Gargždai's AMK "Veteranas".

After playing each other twice, it was revealed that the winners were the team from Gargždai, followed by the team from Telšiai in second place, and the "Tauras" footballers in third place.

Since this year it was not possible to gather a full squad to hold the championships in the Aukštaitija region, even though there were teams willing to play (Vilnius "Aktas" and Ukmergė "Vienybė"), it was decided to organize cup matches.

In the cup matches, a semi-final and final system will feature the two strongest teams from the Žemaitija region (Gargždai and Telšiai) as well as two teams willing to compete from the Aukštaitija region - "Aktas" and "Vienybė".

These two teams competed in a series of two matches to determine which semi-final opponents they will face from the Žemaitija region.

In the series of two matches, the team from Ukmergė defeated the Vilnius team, meaning that in the semi-finals the Gargždai team faced "Aktas" and the Telšiai team faced the Ukmergė team.

However, in these matches the teams from Žemaitija - Gargždai and Telšiai - proved their advantages by defeating their opponents.

This means that in the final, the teams of Telšiai and Gargždai veterans will compete for the title of cup winners, while the match for third place will await between the Ukmergė and Vilnius footballers.

The time and place of these matches should be confirmed in the near future.
