On Wednesday, a real drama unfolded for the final places in the European Championship E group. The Swedish national team defeated Poland 3-2 in the last seconds and secured the first place in the group. The Poles received a blow to their hearts in the 2nd minute when they failed to catch striker E. Forsberg, who defeated W. Szczesny (1:0). In the 17th minute, R. Lewandowski managed to hit the crossbar twice and missed a good opportunity. In the 59th minute, E. Forsberg scored his second goal, taking advantage of D. Kulusevski's pass (2:0). However, just two minutes later, R. Lewandowski narrowed the score to 2:1. The atmosphere in St. Petersburg turned devilishly hot in the 84th minute - Poland's attacking leader equalized the score and revived the team's hopes of reaching the knockout stages (2:2). Nevertheless, in extra time, D. Kulusevski made another successful pass and V. Claesson scored the decisive goal - 3:2.
