In the French League Cup "Monaco" defeated "Lyon" after a series of penalties (all results)

Yesterday the matches of the quarter-finals of the French League Cup were played, and also the matches between "Bastia" and "Caen" and "Nantes" and "Metz" ended on Tuesday.

"Bordeaux", occupying the fifth place in the French championship, failed to progress to the quarter-finals. Willy Sagnol's pupils lost to Lille players after an 11-meter penalty shootout as visitors. The main game time ended with a result of 1-1.

In the match between strong "Ligue 1" teams - another penalty shootout. This time the test was passed by the nerves of the "Lyon" and "Monaco" players. After 90 minutes, the scoreboard showed zeros, but seven minutes into extra time, the visitors from Monaco were put ahead by Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco. However, with very little time left until the end of the second extra time half, the result was equalized by the most productive player of the highest league, Alexandre Lacazette.

On the other hand, the efforts of the striker were not enough, as the penalty shootout ended in a 5-4 victory for the team led by Leonardo Jardim.
