On Sunday afternoon, the 3rd round matches of the Lithuanian football A League were played.
Supported by their fans at the Aukštaitija stadium, Panevėžio "Ekranas" players met Pakruojos "Kruoja". Valdas Urbonas' team humiliated the guests with a score of 6-2.
The first goal for the Lithuanian champions was scored by Donatas Petrauskas, but the guests equalized the score after twenty minutes.
However, the "Ekranas" response did not take long to arrive. In the 38th minute, Uchenna Umeh put the team ahead, and just five minutes later, the Nigerian doubled the score.
In the second half, the goal fest continued. In the 50th minute, the first goal scorer Georgas Alaverdashvili softened the score, but shortly afterward Vitalijus Kavaliauskas doubled the score again.
Just six minutes later, "Ekranas" already had 5 goals on their account when Arsenij Buinickij scored from the penalty spot.
In the 74th minute, Egidijus Varnas scored the last goal of the match. The Panevėžys team won their second consecutive victory this season.
In the other match, Tauragės "Tauras" faced Marijampolės "Sūduva". Darius Gvildys' players also achieved a crushing victory at the Vytautas stadium.
