After the heavy defeat in the Western Lithuania derby, Klaipėda's "Atlantas" recovered and at home narrowly defeated "Vėtra", who had won both previous matches. The winning goal for the port city club, as in the first round of matches, was scored by R.Žvingilas.
The country's vice-champion, Panevėžys' "Ekranas", continues to perform powerfully, this time defeating the "Šilutė" team at home. The hosts took the lead after M.Savėnas scored an 11-meter penalty, in the second half, the most productive player of last season P.Lukšys doubled the lead, and although M.Bagužis quickly scored to revive hopes for the guests, "Ekranas" celebrated the victory.
Vilnius' "Žalgiris" had no major problems, leaving no hopes for league debutant Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" on their home turf and crushing them with a score of 4-0. Two goals were scored by the Žalgiris players I.Morinas, while M.Bezykornovas and V.Kaušpadas added one each. This was the second victory for "Žalgiris", while "Nevėžis", having gathered three defeats, became the absolute outsider.
In the latest round of matches, defending champions "Kaunas" met Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and easily won with a score of 3-0. The Kaunas team saw goals from E.Poderis, A.Velička, and G.Barevičius. "Sūduva", like "Nevėžis", suffered their third failure, while "Kaunas" recovered from the loss against "Vilnius".
The remaining matches of the round will be played tomorrow - at the "Žalgiris" stadium, "Vilnius" will play against "Šiauliai".
