In the Lithuanian Veterans Championship - the final straight

On Saturday, another round of the Lithuanian veterans (60+) championship was played at the Gytariu Stadium in Siauliai.

After the round, it became clear that the fate of all three podium places will be decided in the final championship round, which will take place in September.

Interestingly, in the round that took place on Saturday, none of the teams fought for the maximum possible points - the two most successful teams each collected 4 points.

Those teams are Utenos "Utenio Senjorai" and Siauliai VFK. Both teams won their first matches, and then in their subsequent meeting the stronger teams failed to clarify - the match ended in a 0:0 draw.

The people of Siauliai managed to defeat FK "Skaistgirio-Zvelgaicio" 3:0 in their first match, while the people of Utena beat Jonavos FVK "Klevas" 3:1.

Jonava's team earned three points - after losing to the Utena club, the Jonava veteran team later rose and defeated the "Kaunas" footballers 3:2.

The last round was not successful for them - in their other matches they played without goals against the Vilnius Seniors team, who later failed to beat "Skaistgirio-Zvelgaicio" either.

With two matches remaining for the teams to play, it became clear that the intrigue will last until the very end. Utena veterans are currently in first place (16 points), followed closely by Vilnius Seniors and Siauliai VFK (13 points), and "Kaunas" (12 points) still has hopes.
