On Sunday, two more matches of the 5th round were played in the English Premier League.
At the "Stamford Bridge" stadium, the London derby took place - "Chelsea" hosted the "Arsenal" footballers. Arsene Wenger's students ended their losing streak at the opponents' field, but did not celebrate the victory.
In the first half, there was quite a boring football. The first good opportunity to break through was for "Chelsea" when Pedro escaped past the opponents' defenders, but did not make a precise shot on Petr Cech's goal.
Later in the same first half, an Arsenal defender Aaron Ramsey was close to scoring when he dribbled past several opponents in the penalty area and hit the crossbar with a weak shot.
In the second half, things on the field unfolded quite similarly - at the beginning, the Arsenal players were slightly more active, and later "Chelsea" also had their chances.
However, neither team managed to score a goal, although in the 87th minute "Arsenal" gained a numerical advantage - David Luiz was removed from the field with a head injury.
"Chelsea" added their 10th point, and "Arsenal" - their seventh.
In the other matches of the previous round, the "Manchester United" team, who ended their winning streak, rose again - they achieved a crushing victory against Liverpool's "Everton" in front of their own fans.
The first goal came in the 4th minute - a spectacular strike by Antonio Valencia put the hosts in front. "Everton" tried to get back into the game, but were crushed at the end of the match.
In the 84th minute, Henrikh Mkhitaryan increased the lead after a pass from Romelu Lukaku, and already in the 90th minute, R. Lukaku scored his own goal. The final point was added by Anthony Martial, who scored from the penalty spot in extra time.
Manchester teams continue to dominate the Premier League - both "City" and "United" have 13 points each and lead the closest pursuers by 3 points.
