In the London Derby, Arsenal once again had to admit Chelsea's advantage (VIDEO)

On Sunday, two matches of the 23rd round were played in the English Premier League.

At the Emirates Stadium, the London derby took place, where Arsenal and Chelsea players clashed. Per Mertesacker's red card at the beginning of the match spoiled all the intrigue and the "Blues" celebrated a minimal victory.

The match started with active play from both teams, but the visitors from Stamford Bridge looked slightly more dangerous, receiving a "gift" from the Gunners' captain in the 18th minute.

After a pass from Willian, Diego Costa broke through and P. Mertesacker tried to tackle the ball from the Spaniard, but the referee noticed the German's foul as a last hope and the Gunners were left to play with ten men.

Chelsea didn't hesitate to take advantage of the numerical superiority - five minutes later, D. Costa received a goal-scoring pass from the flank and defeated his former teammate Petr Cech.

In the second half, both teams showed nothing significant and after 90 minutes of battle, referee Mark Clattenburg recorded a minimal away victory.

Arsenal now have the same points as Manchester City after the defeat, trailing 3 points behind the leader Leicester City. Meanwhile, Chelsea rises to 13th place.

In other matches, Liverpool's Everton had to acknowledge Swansea City's advantage in front of their own fans.
