On Thursday evening, the last matches of the 20th round of the English Premier League were played.
At the "White Hart Lane" stadium, two London teams - "Tottenham" and "Chelsea" clashed. The "Spurs" footballers defeated the "Blues" with a score of 5-3, scoring eight goals in total.
In a highly productive match, the "Chelsea" footballers started more successfully, taking the lead in the 18th minute. Diego Costa, near the goal line, redirected the ball into the net after Oscar's shot.
It took a while for Jose Mourinho's team to equalize, but by the 30th minute, the score was level. Harry Kane, shining throughout the 90 minutes, restored balance, and in the 44th minute, Danny Rose put the "Spurs" ahead by rushing to a loose ball.
It seemed like the first half would end with a score of 2-1, but the team led by Mauricio Pochettino did not intend to stop at just two goals. In additional time added by the referee, a penalty was awarded to Andros Townsend, which he successfully converted to extend their lead.
The second half also gifted the spectators with goals. In the 52nd minute, the score became thrilling when H. Kane scored his second after a pass from Nacer Chadli.
However, in the 61st minute, the score was narrowed when a mistake in the middle of the field by "Spurs" defender Federico Fazio "gifted" the ball to Cesc Fabregas, who made a successful pass to Eden Hazard.
After the Belgian's goal, "Chelsea" stepped up their game and posed a serious threat to the "Tottenham" goal. Cesar Azpilicueta had a great opportunity, but Hugo Lloris reacted brilliantly to his shot.
In the 78th minute, "Tottenham" had the final say when Nacer Chadli scored the fifth goal. Towards the end of the match, John Terry managed to beat H. Lloris, but that did not stop the hosts from securing a convincing victory.
After the victory, "Tottenham" added three points to their tally and climbed to fifth place. Meanwhile, after 20 rounds, "Chelsea" along with "Manchester City" now have 46 points each and are sharing the 1-2 spots.
