“AC Milan” striker Zlatan Ibrahimovič's statue no longer stands at the Malmo city stadium. Only the figure's two feet remain on the pedestal, lrytas.lt wrote.
At the beginning of January, fans of the “Malmo” club cut off the statue's legs and the figure fell onto a security fence. A message was left nearby: "Fix this mess!".
This was due to his financial investment in the main rival club of the "Malmo" team.
In November, a monument to Z. Ibrahimovič was erected near the Malmo stadium and it was vandalized almost every week.
Once the statue's nose and ears were cut off, it was set on fire twice, hung in a toilet with a toilet seat, its legs were attempted to be cut off, and a noose was hung around the bronze image of Z. Ibrahimovič's neck.
The vandals started their attacks after the football player bought 25% of the shares of the "Hammarby" club - this Stockholm club is one of the biggest competitors of "Malmo" in the country's championships.
It was in Malmo city where 20 years ago one of the most famous Swedish footballers nicknamed Ibra started his professional career, who played for Turin's "Juventus", Milan's "Inter", "Barcelona", "Paris Saint-Germain", "Manchester United" and other clubs throughout his career.
