On Thursday, the remaining games of the V round of the UEFA Europa League were played.
Vytautas Černiauskas' "Vaslui" team achieved a favorable result at home - a goalless draw, sharing a point with Marius Stankevicius' "Lazio" Roma.
Only one Lithuanian player appeared on the field for the entire 90 minutes - Černiauskas, as defender representing the Italian club was not registered for the match.
"Vaslui" and "Lazio" in Group D have each collected six points, but the Romanians occupy a higher position in the standings due to the 2-2 draw achieved in Rome.
Leading the group confidently are the Lisbon "Sporting" players, who have secured their place in the next stage by winning four matches.
In two weeks, "Lazio" will host the "Sporting" team at home and will await a favorable result from Zurich, where Vaslui will compete with the local "Zurich" team.
In addition to "Sporting", teams that have already secured their place in the Europa League round of 16 are "Stoke", Bilbao "Athletic", Schalke from Gelsenkirchen, Twente from Enschede, Anderlecht from Brussels, and Lokomotiv Moscow.
