The Lithuanian national team today in Vilnius finishes the initial preparations for the upcoming 2006 World Cup qualification matches and tomorrow flies to Spain. Unfortunately, before the tough match, the team's coach A. Liubinskas will have to deal with injury problems. Not only will the team be without the injured D. Vencevičius and disqualified D. Šemberas and M. Stankevičius, but most likely some of the most experienced players - E. Jankauskas and A. Skarbalius - will not play against Spain, and it is also unclear about T. Danilevičius and R. Poškus. Although there is hope that Jankauskas and Skarbalius will recover in time, the national team strategist A. Liubinskas stated on Tuesday that it is a big loss, but the team is not going to give up and will try to cope with other players. "Because these footballers will not be able to play in these important matches against the Spanish national team, it is a huge loss for the team. I can say this much - the Lithuanian national team will play against the Spanish national football team... The time has come when we have to let other players play, we cannot do anything about it - eternity does not exist, we have to think about the future," reflected Liubinskas. - "There are really no bad moods in the team. We have to do everything we can do best, so we are not approaching these matches pessimistically... All team members are working very well during training. The end of the season in foreign clubs brought us many losses." According to A. Liubinskas, there were no easy matches in these qualifying matches: "I cannot say that these matches will be the most difficult for us, all of them were very tense and important. We had to play equally in Belgium, at home we had to not give up to the Spanish and must win against San Marino. Three more matches await us at home. The difficult thing for us right now is that we do not have players." "The most important goal of the matches is not to lose. I hope that the team will perform as best as they can, I hope that the fans who come to support us," the coach hoped.
