In the quarterfinals of the Nations League, another penalty shootout was required.

After goals from Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembélé, France extended the match against Croatia to extra time. There were no goals in extra time, so the question of the winner was decided by a penalty shootout.

The failures of Franjo Ivanović and Martin Baturina meant that after five penalties, the French had a significant lead.

Not long after, Jules Koundé hit a penalty over the crossbar, and Theo Hernandez failed to convert a penalty that could have been decisive.

Indeed, the Croatians made a crucial error for the last time. Joško Gvardiol could not outsmart Mike Maignan, and Dayot Upamecano secured the victory for "Les Blues" with a confident shot.

In the semifinals, France will face Spain.
