ver the weekend, the ninth round of the 32nd Eredivisie championship matches took place in the Netherlands, after which the intrigue still remains. The teams in the top three positions all secured victories, so the situation in the standings remains unchanged - the leaders are still the champions PSV Eindhoven, followed by AZ Alkmaar and Ajax Amsterdam two points behind.

After this round, it became clear that next year we will not see the team from The Hague, Den Haag, in the top division. The country's champions PSV had a tough match against Twente, who are in fourth place, and barely managed to secure a victory, with Jefferson Farfan scoring two goals in just two minutes - in the 19th and 20th minutes of the match.

Amsterdam's Ajax team also secured a 2-0 victory at home against NAC Breda, but they had numerous chances to score. The first goal came from a penalty in the 18th minute converted by Kenneth Perez, who also assisted in the second goal, scored by Ryan Babel from a few meters away.

Alkmaar's AZ also secured a narrow 1-0 victory at home against Vitesse, who played with ten men for most of the second half. The only goal of the match was scored by Shota Arveladze in the 23rd minute.

Rotterdam's Feyenoord continues to surprise with its inconsistent performances. After losing 0-4 to Groningen last weekend, this time they were defeated 1-4 by Heracles Almelo. With 53 points, Feyenoord currently stands in 5th place, but three teams are closely trailing behind. Before the end of the regular season, Groningen, Roda, and Utrecht still have a chance to overtake them.

Also, Alves scored a hat-trick in the 32nd round and helped his team to victory, as Heerenveen won 3-1 against Willem II. The first goal of the match came in the 49th minute, and even though Cristiano equalized two minutes later, Alves quickly helped Heerenveen take the lead again and scored a third goal with about 20 minutes left in the match.

It is already clear that next year in the Eredivisie we will not see Den Haag, who lost 0-2 to Roda Kerkrade. As the closest team, RKC Waalwijk, defeated Excelsior Rotterdam 3-0 away (with a hat-trick from Tim Janssen in this match), it became clear that Den Haag will not be able to avoid relegation. Den Haag will play in the second division, known as the Jupiler League, next year.

The other two teams in the bottom positions will have to play playoff matches against eight Jupiler League teams (previously six). The competition system is as follows: two groups of five teams are formed, with four Jupiler League teams and one Eredivisie club in each group. The winners of the groups will play in the Eredivisie championship.
