Due to the war in Ukraine, the 2022 World Cup qualifying match between Ukraine and Scotland footballers was postponed to March. However, this match finally took place on the evening of June 1st and Ukrainians achieved a hard-fought victory against the Scots with a score of 3:1. In the first half, most of the dangerous opportunities were created by the Ukrainian footballers and in the 33rd minute, they scored the first goal of the match. Andriy Yarmolenko lifted the ball over the goalkeeper with a technical shot, making it 1:0. In the second half, the Ukrainian footballers started well and doubled their lead in the 49th minute. Roman Yaremchuk scored a header after a high pass from Oleksandr Karavaev. However, after conceding the second goal, the Scots began to show more dangerous attacks and in the 79th minute, they managed to reduce the score. Due to a rough mistake by the Ukrainian national team goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan, Callum McGregor scored. Nonetheless, in the 90+5th minute, all questions were answered in the match by Artem Dovbyk, who scored the third goal for his team with a confident shot. Now, Ukraine is only one barrier away from the World Cup - the Welsh national team footballers. The match between Ukrainians and the Welsh will take place on June 5th.
