Kaunas district FC "Hegelmann" has signed a contract with a newcomer from Nigeria - Oduenyi Ugochukwu, playing in the attacking line.
The 27-year-old powerful striker arrives at the Kaunas district club after stints in the highest leagues of Serbia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.
"I am happy to be here, I feel good and positive, I want and hope to win every game with the team. I will strive to help the team as much as I can," said the blue and white newcomer.
The footballer has been training with the team for some time, but due to document issues, he could not debut neither in the Kaunas derby nor in the match against Vilnius' "Žalgiris."
"I have a few friends who play in the Lithuanian league. I also sometimes watch your championship. So I know a little bit about it. But now I am here and will learn more and more. I can't wait to debut," said Oduenyi Ugochukwu, or just Ugo.
The Nigerian started his career at the "E & A" academy, where he trained with Thompson Gavi. The striker signed his first professional contract with the Austrian top league club "LASK," but he never debuted there because he was loaned to other teams. In the 2019 season, O. Ugochukwu, together with the "SV Ried" club, won the second league of Austria.
Part of the 2021 season, the footballer played for Minaj FK "Minaj" team in the highest division of Ukraine and scored 1 goal in 7 matches. He ended the season at the Kazakhstani "Zhetysu" club, where he did not score any goals in 9 matches.
Before coming to Lithuania, the striker belonged to the Ivano-Frankivsk "Javor" club from Serbia. Last year, he climbed to the country's top division with this club and managed to debut, but did not score any goals.
"I know my strong points in the game, the coach has already had the chance to get to know them as well, so I believe he will be able to use them to the maximum. I'm ready," said the blue and white newcomer.
