In the 4th minute, the English visitors were saddened by a goal - Saul Niguez scored a spectacular ricochet goal right at the goal line. A quick goal for the Atletico team was like the perfect scenario, as Diego Simeone's team could now focus all their attention on defense. Liverpool dominated the majority of the match, but their ball control did not bring anything good - Atletico kept a clean sheet and created several good opportunities during quick attacks. In other matches, Erling Braut Haaland led Borussia Dortmund to victory against Paris Saint-Germain. After the first half, the score was even, although more chances were created by the yellow and blacks. In the 69th minute, Signal Iduna Park came to life as E. B. Haaland scored after a mistake by the PSG defenders. However, Neymar equalized the score shortly after, but BVB responded with another goal - two minutes later the same Norwegian player scored impressively. This was his 10th goal in this UEFA Champions League season. He is the top scorer of the tournament. The return matches for both pairs will take place on March 11th.
