In the second half, awakened "Arsenal" clinched a long-awaited victory

On Monday evening, the last match of the 16th round of the English Premier League was played.

The long-awaited victory was achieved by London's Arsenal team, which, despite a poor performance in the first half, broke down West Ham's resistance.

This was Arsenal's first victory since October 24. During that period, the Gunners remained winless in nine consecutive matches - three losses and six draws.

West Ham dominated almost the entire first half, while Arsenal's attack was completely empty. In the 38th minute, Angelo Ogbonna put the Hammers ahead with a goal from a set piece.

The beginning of the second half was also not easy for the Arsenal team, but a brilliant moment from Sead Kolasinac and Gabriel Martinelli in the 60th minute allowed the visitors to get back into the game in the battle for victory.

After the equalizing goal, Arsenal's record club signing Nicolas Pepe finally showed his skill - he scored a fantastic goal in the 65th minute to put the Gunners ahead, and just four minutes later he made an assist to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Scoring three goals in nine minutes, the Arsenal team made no mistakes in defense and celebrated a 3-1 victory.

The Gunners rose to ninth place and reduced the gap to fourth-placed Chelsea to 7 points.

Meanwhile, West Ham, who suffered their seventh defeat in the last ten matches, dropped to 16th place.
