Three matches of the 31st round were played in the French "Ligue 1" on Sunday.
Perhaps the most interesting match took place in Marseille, where the local team clashed with Paris Saint-Germain. After a tense battle, Laurent Blanc's pupils triumphed with a score of 2-3.
The match began with the home team's aggressive play, but they failed to score a quick goal. Later, the game became more balanced, and in the 30th minute, the spectators saw the first goal.
Andre-Pierre Gignac, after receiving an excellent pass from Dimitri Payet, scored with a header and put his team in the lead. However, the hosts did not enjoy their advantage for long, as in the 35th minute, Blaise Matuidi equalized with a fantastic shot.
Marseille did not falter after the visitors' response from Paris, and in the 43rd minute, the same A. Gignac capitalized on a mistake by the opponents to score once again against Salvatore Sirigu.
The second half began with a strong offensive from PSG. Already in the 49th minute, Marquinhos equalized the score from a penalty in the box.
This was not enough for L. Blanco's students, as just two minutes later, a quick attack led to an own goal by Jeremy Morel.
Throughout the remaining time, Marseille had chances to equalize the score, but the disciplined defense of the French champions allowed them to celebrate victory with a score of 2-3.
After this victory, the PSG team climbed to the first place with 62 points, holding a one-point lead over Lyon.
In other matches played today, Bordeaux extended their victory against Lens, while Caen defeated Nantes after a tough battle.
