On Tuesday evening, the Copa del Rey tournament of this season, the Spanish King's Cup, kicked off with the first two matches. The victories were celebrated by the title defender "Barcelona" and "Valencia".

The Catalonia club, playing without their leader Lionel Messi, won 3-0 (1-0) away against the Vitoria club "Deportivo Alaves", competing in the third Spanish football division (Segunda B).

In the match, "Barca" played with an experimental defensive line, featuring two right-backs - Dani Alves and Martin Montoya - alongside young Marc Bartra. However, the Brazilian D. Alves played more in attack, so as usual, Sergio Busquets filled in defense, and the Catalans played in a long-standing 3-5-2 formation.

The first goal was scored by David Villa in the 40th minute, receiving a lot of applause for his excellent shot. At the beginning of the second half (51'), Andres Iniesta released a beautiful "balloon" from the penalty area's approaches, standing out in this match as the captain's successor.

At the end of the match (88'), a third goal was added by the outstanding Cesc Fabregas, who has been performing well this season.

In another match, the "Valencia" club won 2-0 away against the "UE Lagostera" club. The goals were scored by Jonas (45+1') and Haedo Valdez (68').

The return matches of the "Copa del Rey" will take place on November 27th, while the other first-round games will be played on Wednesday (October 31) and Thursday (November 1).
