In the training camp of the Portuguese national team, passions are heating up - defender Miguel Lopes and winger Ricardo Quaresma almost came to blows during practice.
The incident occurred at the end of the training session, when Lopes, representing "Braga", roughly tackled the Istanbul "Besiktas" player. This angered Quaresma, who tried to confront the defender.
Both players were separated, and more serious problems were avoided thanks to the intervention of coach Paulo Bento and another defender, Ricardo Costa.
"Such things sometimes happen in training," said Costa. "The attempt to win the ball was rough. We are competitive and very committed, so these things happen."
