In the white-hot Madrid derby - a goalless draw

On Saturday late evening in the Spanish capital, there was a lot of interest in the Madrid derby.

In the 7th round of "La Liga", "Atletico" faced off against "Real". The quite dull derby ended without goals, and the "whites" maintained their leader positions.

Both Madrid teams entered the battle knowing that a draw in this duel is not a bad result.

The hosts started the match more actively. The first more dangerous opportunity was created near Thibaut Courtois' goal, when Joao Felix, free from defenders, struck from a fairly acute angle near the post.

Later, "Real" took more control, but the visitors did not create any serious chances in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the picture did not change too much - perhaps the "whites" attacked more, creating the most dangerous moment of the match in this period.

The closest to a goal in this duel was Karim Benzema, who in the 75th minute, after a pass from Nacho, headed straight into the lower corner of the opponent's goal, but Jan Oblak showed an amazing reaction and saved the hosts from a potentially winning goal by the opponents.

The rest of the match time passed without major attacks on either goal.

These equalizer "Real" team, who have not lost in the seventh derby in the league, helped to maintain their first position. "Atletico" remains in third place with 14 points.

On Sunday, San Sebastian's "Real Sociedad" team could jump to the top of the table, but in order to do so, they will need to beat "Sevilla" away.
