During the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches in the South American qualification zone (CONMEBOL), four games were played.

The most impressive victory was achieved by the Colombian national team, which at home defeated Bolivia 5-0 (1-0) and secured their sixth victory in nine matches.

The goals for the winners were scored by Macnelly Torres (20 min.), Carlos Enrique Valdes Parra (50 min.), Teofilo Gutierrez (62 min.), Radamel Falcao (86 min.) and Pablo Armero (90 min).

The leader of the tournament table Argentina also won 3-0 (2-0) against the Venezuelan national team at home. This was the seventh victory for the winners in ten matches.

Gonzalo Higuain scored twice for the Argentinians (28 and 58 min), while Lionel Messi scored once from the penalty spot (45 min). It is worth noting that L. Messi provided both assists for G. Higuain's goals.
