"Ajax" and "Panathinaikos" have just played one of the most impressive matches in the history of the Europa League qualifiers.

In the third round of the Europa League qualifying stage, the winner was determined only after a penalty shootout. In the return match, in the dying minutes of regulation time, Tete scored a goal that sent the match into extra time and later to penalties.

In the penalty shootout, four "Ajax" players had the chance to extend their victory – Bertrand Traore, Youri Baasas, Anton Gaaei, and Brian Brobbey. The latter, along with 12 other players, stepped up to the spot twice.

The penalty shootout lasted even 25 minutes, with a total of 34 penalties taken, and the decisive one was accurately converted by the full-back A. Gaaei.

"Ajax" goalkeeper Remko Pasveer saved 5 shots and successfully converted one penalty himself. The 40-year-old veteran still has some powder left.
