On Saturday in Kėdainiai, the third round of the Lithuanian veterans' (40+) championship took place.
During the round, teams traditionally played two matches each. The most successful round was for the "Šiauliai Lions", who became the only team to win both matches played.
Both matches were won by the people from Šiauliai by an equal margin – they defeated both VFK "Nevėžis" and Kaunas "Šilainiai" with a score of 3:2.
A successful weekend allowed the people from Šiauliai to climb to the third step of the tournament table, reducing the gap with the two leading teams – "Virpstas" and Jonava VFK "Klevas".
Both of them earned four points each. In their head-to-head battle, no stronger team emerged (the match ended 0:0), and later both teams secured convincing victories. "Virpstas" surpassed "Jojo, nene" from Vilnius, while the people from Jonava dealt with "Nevėžis".
The team that did not play in the last round, "Šilainiai", returned with one point – we already mentioned their defeat to the team from Šiauliai, but before that, they grabbed points in the battle with "Jojo, nene".
