Football may see quite a radical innovation in the near future.
"Telegraph" reports that football will soon become familiar with the blue card rule. This will be an attempt to test new rules for offenses that have long been debated.
A player who receives a blue card should leave the field for 10 minutes. He would be punished for a serious, cynical foul or disrespect towards the referee before the match. Stopping dangerous attacks would also prompt the referee to issue this unique punishment.
The first attempts to introduce this new soccer rule may start from next summer. However, the major leagues will for now avoid it, with trials taking place in smaller leagues to refine and adjust the blue card principle, if necessary.
Two blue cards or one blue and one yellow card would result in expulsion from the field - a red card.
