The latest research by sports scientists, various testing, and opportunities to familiarize themselves with the latest sports science technologies. These and many more opportunities are opening up for Lithuanian football clubs. From now on, Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) will cooperate with the Lithuanian Football Clubs Association A League (LFKA A League), with the contract signed by University Rector Diana Rėklaitienė and League President Gintaras Staniulis.
"We are pleased to start joint activities with the university, which has accumulated great experience in training science, sports management, psychology, and other areas. We aim for clubs to collaborate more with sports scientists, conduct various tests, improve not only the physical and psychological preparation of footballers but also club management. We greatly look forward to various programs for students from the Lithuanian Sports University who would undertake internships and in the future create job opportunities," says G. Staniulis.
According to the LSU Rector, most of the country's coaches and other sports specialists are trained at the Lithuanian Sports University, so cooperation will provide broader opportunities for both sides.
"The university is like a sports home that brings together various representatives of the sports sector. We constantly share the latest scientific knowledge, invite world-renowned sports scientists, collaborate with various universities, and sports organizations. I have no doubt that the country's football will be able to adopt good experience, and together we can improve study programs and the work of scientists," says D. Rėklaitienė.
LSU Vice-Rector for Sports and Partnerships Vidas Bružas presented athlete testing and research conducted by scientists at the Sports Science and Innovation Institute.
"The recommendations of scientists are important for every coach striving for high results. It is necessary to carry out them periodically using modern methods," says V. Bružas.
Vaidotas Zajarskas, Director of the Lithuanian Football Clubs Association A League, who participated in the meeting, was interested in the experience accumulated by LSU in developing opportunities for athletes to have a dual career and study.
Reminder: in the Training Systems program at the Lithuanian Sports University, football specialists are trained. During their studies, they can simultaneously attend UEFA C and B license coaching courses. The UEFA license allows coaches to work in any European country's club system.
