"Inter" and "Ajax" clubs eliminated from the UEFA Champions League

On Tuesday at 22:00 in the evening, the last matches of Groups F-H of the UEFA Champions League were played.

For the second year in a row, Milan's "Inter" club was eliminated in the final group stage matches. "Barcelona" defeated the team from the fashion capital in a meaningless match, with the youngest Champions League goal scorer Ansu Fati sending them into the knockout stage at the end of the match.

Depending on the matches of Dortmund's "Borussia," "Inter" was satisfied with only one victory in these matches. Antonio Conte's team, having not won these matches, had to wait for a miracle in Germany, but "Borussia" did not lose its matches.

The visitors from Catalonia did not play with their strongest lineup, but even with such a team, "Barca" became an insurmountable obstacle for the hosts.

In the 23rd minute, Carles Perez put the visitors ahead, but Romelu Lukaku equalized at the end of the first half. The same forward had another opportunity to put the team ahead in the second half.

However, "Inter" failed to score the second goal and was punished in the 87th minute - after a substitution in the box, Ansu Fati surprised Samir Handanovič with an unexpected shot and thus killed any hopes of "Inter."

Dortmund's team had to relax after a victory - Prague's "Slavia" had equalized the result, but Julian Brandt's goal in the second half determined BVB's triumph.

A huge sensation was recorded in another stadium - Amsterdam's "Ajax" team, which was leading the group before this round, lost to Valencia and also withdrew from the tournament.

Only Rodrigo's shot in the 24th minute determined the victory of the "Valencia" team. Last season, the "Ajax" team reached the Champions League semifinals and will now have to continue their journey in the Europa League.

"Ajax" could have been saved by only "Lille" team, but they failed to resist London's "Chelsea" team - Frank Lampard's squad won with a score of 2-1.

"Valencia" remained in first place in the group, while "Chelsea" took the second position.

In Group G, the "Lyon" team sensationally secured a spot in the quarter-finals by cancelling the two-goal deficit at home and drawing 2-2 against the previously secured first-place team "Leipzig."

Thanks to the draw, "Lyon" took the second position, and St. Petersburg's "Zenit," after a defeat in Lisbon, gave up the third position to the "Benfica" team.
