Inter's sports director Piero Ausilio revealed that the future of Mauro Icardi as the team's captain will be decided in the near future.
The Argentine has been under a lot of pressure from fans after releasing an autobiography in which he called himself a hero for standing up to one of the ultras leaders.
This incident occurred last season when, after a 3-1 defeat to Sassuolo, he threw his striker's armband into the crowd.
Furthermore, recently Icardi has not been showing his best form - in the recent match against Cagliari, he missed a penalty kick.
When vice president Javier Zanetti mentioned that the striker could lose the captain's armband, Ausilio said: "The whole club agrees with Zanetti."
"Today we played an important match and needed to focus on Cagliari. Tomorrow (Monday - ed. note) we will have the opportunity to look at everything together with the player and analyze everything that happened, using a clear mind."
"I don't think we saw the best of Icardi today. Dealing with a certain pressure is not easy, especially when you're a 23-year-old boy."
"We will take care of the team and the club so that we are in the best shape during matches. We have to deal with a difficult sports situation, but I think it will only benefit Inter."
Zanetti and Ausilio's comments were met with Icardi's response to the fans on the social network Instagram.
