Milan's football players stand firmly behind the criticized head coach Leonardo. Italian champions lost two very important battles this week: they were defeated by the leader Milan in the Serie A championship and in the first Champions League quarter-final match at home, the Brazilian coach's team was crushed by Schalke from Gelsenkirchen. But team captain Javier Zanetti said: "Leonardo is an amazing personality. We believe in him and he believes in us. When this coach took over, we were reborn, so I think he should stay in his position." He was supported by defender Esteban Cambiasso: "The players, the club, and the fans are on Leonardo's side. We are still fighting on three fronts, but people are inclined to forget that." And he added: "Yes, we lost two important matches, but we can still bounce back. It would have been much more painful to lose to Schalke by such a result away, because then we would have no hope and would be eliminated from European tournaments like all other Italian clubs."
