In the sixth round of the Lithuanian football "A lyga," Marijampolė's "Sūduva" crushed Visaginas "Interas" 7-0 as the newcomers to the league.

At the start of the match, neither team created any serious attacks, with the only exception being a powerful long-range shot by Darius Maciulevičius of “Sūduva.” The home team "Interas" responded with a weak attempt by Deivydas Matulevičius, and after a penalty shot by the visiting player Willer, the ball ended up in the hands of goalie Petro Dubrovskis.
The first goal of the match came in the 18th minute - after a pass from D.Maciulevičius, Nerijus Mačiulis' shot was initially blocked by P.Dubrovskis, but Willer managed to overcome the "Interas" goalkeeper and the ball rolled into the net.
Later, the teams exchanged less dangerous attacks, but in the 37th minute "Sūduva" doubled their lead in a bizarre goal, where after N.Mačiulis' pass, the ball that rebounded from a defender was passed by not only “Sūduva's” forward Gvidas Juška but also “Interas” goalkeeper P.Dubrovskis.
And just a minute later, the latter had to pick the ball out of the net again because N.Mačiulis scored another goal by finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. As the first half was coming to an end, G.Juška scored once again, this time hitting the upper corner of the goal after a precise pass from D.Maciulevičius into the box.
In the second half, a bit of life was brought into "Interas's" game by Arvydas Novikovas appearing after a substitution, but "Sūduva" continued to dominate. Despite playing an hour away, G.Juška was not giving up on finding the net, while A.Novikovas and D.Matulevičius made desperate long-range attempts on the other side of the field.
In the 69th minute, Aleksandras Sobolis missed completely near the goal, and in the 76th minute, after a corner kick from Andrejus Milevskis, Artūras Kerys scored another goal from close range with a header.
However, it didn’t end there - Giedrius Slavickas failed to score twice later, and as "Sūduva's" attacks continued, Sergejus Koziuberda confused the goalkeeper after a pass from Willer and added his name as a goal scorer next to G.Slavickas. At the end of the match, after a foul on G.Slavickas resulting in a penalty kick, "Interas" was further humiliated by Willer, who delighted the sparse crowd at the "Žalgiris" stadium with an impressive somersault.
After this victory, Marijampolės climbed to the top of the league with 11 points, approaching the leaders "FBK Kauno" and Vilnius "Žalgiris," becoming the most productive team in the league. It is worth noting that it was precisely the players trained by Algimantas Gabrys who had scored 7 goals in the first five matches.
