In the last matches of the 28th round of the Italian championship, Milan's "Inter", after a tense battle, defeated the outsiders "Perugia" and pushed them closer to relegation to "Serie-B".

2-3 24', 86', 50', 58', 88'

Before the match, a festive mood was felt - both teams received large chocolate eggs. The home team started off better and luck was not on their side when Obodo's shot hit the post in the 19th minute, followed by the same happening a minute later after Fabiano's attempt to beat Toldo. Ironically, after three minutes, "Inter" took advantage of their first opportunity - Adriano got past two defenders and placed the ball past goalkeeper Kalac. Shortly after, Codrea's shot was handballed by Materazzi, but the referee deemed it accidental. This episode caused major protests, including from the club directors who were removed from the bench. "Perugia" continued to storm the opponents' goal, but they could not capitalize on their chances.

In the second half, they managed to overcome that problem, and Di Francesco equalized four minutes into the game. Substitute Hubner leveled the score in the 57th minute with a shot rebounding off a penalty kick. The goal gave "Perugia" confidence in their abilities, but as the match approached the end, "Inter" began to press the opponents more. Adriano was particularly active and in the 86th minute, he stopped the ball and struck accurately. Two minutes later, the visitors scored the decisive goal: Martins found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and sent the ball into the net. "Perugia" was very unhappy with this episode as Adriano was in an offside position.

So "Inter" won and climbed to fifth place with 49 points. Meanwhile, "Perugia" can almost say goodbye to "Serie-A" as they are now 6 points behind "Lecce", who are in fourteenth place.
