On Monday evening, the final match of the 13th round of the Scottish Championship took place between the neighboring teams in the league table: "Inverness" and "Aberdeen". The hosts took the lead after a goal twelve minutes before the end, and the guests managed to snatch a draw in the last minute: the final result was 1-1.
"Inverness" 1 - 1 "Aberdeen"
78‘ [1 - 0] Graham Bayne
90‘ [1 - 1] Steve Lovell
The guests started the match more actively. In the 19th minute, "Aberdeen" defender Gary Dempsey's shot from about 18 meters missed the goalpost by a hair's breadth. Immediately after, the home team countered, but "Inverness" forward Craig Dargo's shot from the same distance didn't find the target. A little later, the home team's defender John Rankin caught a shot from outside the penalty area by "Aberdeen" goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.
Into the second half, the guests came out stronger, but Chris Clark's shot was slightly off target. Shortly after, Michael Hart passed the ball to his teammate Lee Miller, but his sharp-angled shot found the back of the net from the other side. Nevertheless, it was the "Inverness" players who scored the first goal.
In the 78th minute, falling to the ground after a pass from Roy McBain, Graham Bayne defeated "Aberdeen" goalkeeper J. Langfield with a header from just a few meters. "Aberdeen" simply wanted to equalize, but after coming on as a substitute, Steve Lovell shook the crossbar of "Inverness" goal.
However, in the final moments of the match, M. Hart lifted the ball to L. Miller, who passed it to S. Lovell, leaving him only to send the ball into the net. After these draws, both teams remained in the middle of the league table with 19 points, as they missed a great opportunity to overtake "Rangers" in the 3rd place.
