Extending the contract with Filippo Inzaghi for another year, even though the footballer is currently recovering from a serious injury.

This season, the veteran will no longer be seen on the field, as he injured his knee last month.

The 37-year-old Inzaghi's contract expires in June, but according to the club's vice president Adriano Galliani, there is a place for him in the team.

"Inzaghi will definitely stay in the club next season," said Galliani. "Without his goals, we wouldn't be able to participate in the Champions League draw for the knockout stages on Friday."

And he added: "I am sure that he will return and prove that he can play at the highest level."
