The coach and players of the Lithuanian national football team after the victorious match against Estonia stated that the opponents tried to play a slow game, but the most important thing is that they managed to achieve a second victory.
Igoris Pankratjevas, coach of the Lithuanian national team:
"As we expected, the match was very tough and slow. Today I emphasized to the team that the main danger would come after set pieces, after which the Estonian team would take over the initiative for a certain period.
Both teams had chances to score. This time we scored, but it wasn't just luck. The match was not the most pleasant to watch, but it is very important to fight for three points.
The Estonian national team is well physically prepared and has powerful players. They were winning many one-on-one duels. When we managed to drop the ball on the ground, make more accurate passes, then we caused them more problems."
