"Ipswich Town” team explained why its captain Sam Morsy refused to wear a rainbow armband in the match against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

The Premier League announced that November 29 – December 5 is designated for LGBTQ+ support, and team captains are required to express their support for "Stonewall’s 2024 Rainbow Laces” campaign.

However, the only representative of the Ipswich Town team was without an armband in last weekend’s match.

According to the club, the main reason for this is religious. The player is a Muslim.
