Iranian national team players warned not to take photos with fans

Iranian footballers participating in the Asian Cup received a warning from their country's sports officials.

Carlo Queiroz's players, who have reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, are urged not to take selfies with female football fans at Australian stadiums.

"Players are prohibited from taking selfies with female football fans.

These women could later use the photos against our country for political purposes or accuse the players of harassment.

If the footballers do not listen to us, appropriate measures will need to be taken," said federation representative Ali Akbar Mohammedzade.

It is reported that about 70,000 immigrants from Iran live in Australia, who take advantage of the rare opportunity to capture memories with their idols from their homeland.
