During the last summer, Zinedine Zidane, who wanted to bring changes to the team, still achieved his goal - the Frenchman returned to Real Madrid after nine months and is preparing for big summer plans.
Zidane will have to finish the season with the team in the Spanish championship, but Real Madrid only has realistic chances in the fight for the second position. Throughout this time, the media will talk more about what Zidane hopes to bring to the club this upcoming summer than about the team's results.
The Spanish newspaper ABC published the possible reforms that the symbol of UEFA Champions League winners will make in the team.
According to the newspaper, Zidane has already informed the club that he wants to part ways with Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos after the season, as they did not fit the coach's plans last season. Zidane also indicated that the club will not try to bring back James Rodriguez, whose loan agreement with Bayern ends after this season.
Zidane plans to express confidence in Marcelo and Isco, although the Frenchman himself doubts the latter, as the defender may not want to stay in the team after what happened this season, and the club will acquire new attacking players.
Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema will also receive confidence. However, Zidane does not intend to go against the players' will. If any of them wants to leave the team, they will be given permission to do so.
Eden Hazard, who has long been associated with Real Madrid, is expected to be the main target in the summer. Zidane has long admired this player, and Hazard himself wants changes in his career. Hazard is expected to cost around 100 million euros for the "Whites".
Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Neymar, and Robert Lewandowski will also be offered to Zidane, but the club itself understands that acquiring any of these players for a reasonable price will be practically impossible.
If there are more changes in the defense line, the coach plans to press the club for Christian Eriksen or Paul Pogba. However, there are many doubts about the latter, as Real Madrid refused to fight with Manchester United in 2016 when they learned of his desired salary.
In defense, Real Madrid will undoubtedly receive a new center-back. He has practically already been purchased - Real has reached an agreement with Porto for the acquisition of Eder Militao.
ABC believes that a total of 7-8 changes will be made in the team, including players sold and bought.
