Yesterday, renowned British journalist Piers Morgan unveiled short excerpts from an interview with Cristiano Ronaldo, who spoke sharply on several topics.
First of all, the Portuguese player stated that he does not respect "Manchester United" coach Erik ten Hag. The forward also "fired a few shots" at Wayne Rooney and pointed out the problems currently present in the "Red Devils" camp.
Today, "Manchester United" issued an official statement, and reports of possible sanctions awaiting C. Ronaldo have surfaced in the English media.
"Metro" reports that the Manchester club could impose a £1 million fine on the Portuguese player. This amounts to two weeks' worth of the player's salary.
Meanwhile, "Telegraph" journalist Jason Burt informs that the closest date for a potential separation between "Manchester United" and C. Ronaldo is next January if the player agrees to leave after receiving compensation.
In an official statement, Manchester United stated: "The club will decide what to do only after the full interview is released. We want to focus on the second half of the season and continue our good form, build belief, and unity in the team."
The full interview will be released Wednesday evening on the "Talk TV" channel in England.
