The English newspaper "Daily Telegraph" reports that "Manchester City" failed to acquire Riyad Mahrez because "Leicester City" wanted to receive at least one more player in addition to the money.
On the last day of the transfer window, "The Citizens" offered £60 million for the Algerian star, but it was not enough for the latter team. Specifically, "Leicester" would have been willing to sell Mahrez only if Patrick Roberts had arrived in the opposite direction.
The 20-year-old forward is currently on loan to Glasgow "Celtic," but Pep Guardiola sees him as part of the "Man City" team. This season, he has already played 12 games in the ranks of the Scottish champions, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
However, Mahrez's statistics are much more impressive, as he already has nine goals and as many assists to his name.
