The radio station "COPE" of Spain reports that the legendary number 7 will be given to the latest purchase of Madrid's "Real" club.
The club's graduate Mariano Diaz, who returned to Madrid from Lyon for a 23 million euro deal, will now wear the number 7 jersey, which Cristiano Ronaldo had on his back for the last eight years.
This number will be assigned to M. Diaz despite the fact that he does not play a very important role in the team. It is believed that he will play more as a substitute than in the starting lineup.
However, Madrid's "Real" decided that the number 7 cannot remain vacant this season and decided to give it to their newest acquisition.
