Yesterday it was officially announced that former Turin "Juventus" defender Claudio Marchisio has been lured by the opportunity to test his strength in the Russian championship.
The 32-year-old free agent shook hands with St. Petersburg's "Zenit" and signed a two-year contract.
The Italian press reports that C. Marchisio was attracted by the chance to significantly supplement his wallet and earn up to 6.5 million euros per season.
The contract also includes generous bonuses, so the fixed salary could further inflate.
It is worth noting that C. Marchisio, except for one year spent on loan at "Empoli," spent his entire career playing for "Juventus."
During his career, the Italian has played a total of 418 matches and scored 37 goals.
"Zenit" currently holds the top position in the Russian Premier League after the first few rounds.
