On the weekend, the start of the Italian "Serie A" season was postponed due to a strike by football players, as the players' union (AIC) and the clubs' union (LEGA) do not agree on the conditions of a new collective agreement.

AIC is not satisfied with the fact that clubs want to have the ability to force players, who have only one year left on their contract, to move to other teams.

Meanwhile, LEGA wants players to bear the burden of paying a new budget tax approved by the Italian government, aimed at high earners.

The last strike in the Italian championship happened back in 1996.
