It is said that this decision was made due to television ratings, as lower divisions' teams did not stand out with sensational results. For example, in the third round of this season, there were no "Serie C" or "Serie D" teams left. Teams from "Serie A" and "Serie B" will start their battles on August 15, and from the quarter-final stage, the strongest Italian teams will join the competition.
