The Italian Football Federation has rejected the possibility of replaying the interrupted European Championship qualifying match with Serbia.

Last week's match in Genoa, which was supposed to take place, was stopped shortly after it started, as Serbian fans threw pyrotechnics onto the field and clashed with officials.

Later, hooligans invaded the pitch, and a total of 16 people were injured during the brawl.

UEFA is considering the incident on October 28, while Serbian football officials have already requested a replay.

"Replaying the match, even without spectators, would be the best gift for the Serbian federation, which spreads false information," said Italian federation president Antonello Valentini.

"There is no doubt - we will also feel the consequences of this incident. UEFA has already asked to meet with the Serbs, and we have not received any information."
